Heckfield Place
Who knew that a cancelled flight would actually turn out to be one of the best things to happen. Don’t get me wrong it was still a headache sorting out all the flights especially since we were traveling from Greece to the US but we made it work. We were originally planning on overnighting at the Sofitel in Heathrow but since the price more than doubled the next day we decided to go to a much better spot 45 min away from Heathrow Airport. I was pretty sad that we only stayed here one night because I could’ve definitely stayed here one week.
House
You feel right at home as soon as you enter the doors. The house is quite large with many sitting rooms, a bar area, restaurants, and theatre room. I love how this estate has become a beautiful getaway from the hustle and bustle of London that’s only one hour away. I was obsessed with decor, painting and ceiling all throughout house.
Room
Our room was so cute and cosy. The bed felt like a cloud and the mini bar was stocked with complimentary goodies.
Food
There are two restaurants in the house and a place where you can have afternoon tea. Since unfortunately we were only there for one night we had to pick and we chose the green Michelin star restaurant Marle. It was okay, next time I want try the other restaurant Hearth which has a much more cozy vibe, pictured below.
Grounds
Luckily the day we left we had a late departure so we got to enjoy the spa. If you’re staying at the House, which we were, it’s a short beautiful garden walk to the spa. It was October so fall was in the air. Tucked on the side of the garden there was a beautiful greenhouse big enough to hold private events.
Spa
Words can’t describe how spectacular this spa is. There is a no phone, no shoes policy so shoes are left upstairs and once you go down the stairs you leave your phone in the cubbies provided. I’ve been to my fair share of spas and this one really incorporates nature to the spa. The huge hot tub is outside (still connected to the spa), the sauna has a huge glass window to the trees and nature and so the does the pool. I was only able to take to a pic of the area where you check in and leave your shoes so you’re just going to have to take my word and go see for yourself how great it really is.
