Ireland

What a great adventure it was to drive around part of the island. I had such a good time exploring the pubs, food and scenery. I went during the month of February which isn’t high season but I loved it. There were no crowds and even though the majority of time it was cold and rainy, we did get some few days of sun.

Cork

Our first stop in the itinerary was Cork. We stayed at a charming hotel called the Hayfield Manor which is about a 30 min walking distance to the main shops and restaurants. The hotel is probably equal distance to the train station where we took it to go to nearby towns. It’s a pretty small train station with not many stops so I definitely recommend taking it to get to explore around.

Drive

During our drive around Ireland we stopped at many small towns, one place even had a really cool one way road! One of the towns we stayed was Inchydoney at the Inchdydoney Hotel and couldn’t have asked for a better view. We also stopped at little B&B where I had the best breakfast of my life. I’ve never seen so much great food in my life and all served personally to us by our hosts. All the ingredients were organic and made from scratch, truly a remarkable experience.

Kinsale

Can’t say enough good things about the food in this town. Every place I went to was better than the next. I especially enjoyed the fish and chips at the Bulman, which probably ruined me for life because I know for sure I will never have any as good as those. The Bulman was definitely my favorite place to eat during our whole time in Ireland. It has such great and cozy vibe with a fire place on the first floor. I stayed and recommend staying at the Actons Hotel which is pretty central to everything. Weather permitting I do recommend walking as much as possible, you can see so much more doing it that way.
