Arequipa
A little background about me: both of my parents are Peruvian, and growing up, I traveled to Peru every year to spend time with family. Those trips created some of my favorite memories. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to appreciate not only my family’s roots but also the incredible beauty, history, and culture that Peru has to offer.
Recently, I took a trip to Arequipa with my mom to celebrate her birthday. We spent two nights exploring the city before driving about two hours into the mountains to stay at a stunning hotel surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Arequipa has a unique charm, with architecture and atmosphere that often feel distinctly European. And, of course, the food was absolutely incredible. The trip gave me an even deeper appreciation for Peru and all that makes it such a special place.
