Las Casitas, A Belmond Hotel
After a scenic two-hour drive from Arequipa through the mountains, we arrived to our hotel. The journey itself was breathtaking, and completely worth it. The service was exceptional from start to finish, making the experience feel truly special. One of my favorite parts was the variety of complimentary activities offered throughout the day, which made our stay even more memorable.
Casita
The property features just 20 private casitas, making the experience feel intimate and exclusive. Each casita comes with its own plunge pool, perfect for relaxing while taking in the mountain views. Inside, you’ll find a cozy fireplace and a spacious bathroom complete with a soaking tub and an outdoor shower, creating the perfect balance of luxury and nature.
Amenities
One of the things I loved most about this hotel was the variety of activities offered throughout the day. There’s so much to do that you never really need to leave the property if you don’t want to. Since it was my mom’s birthday, I arranged for us to have lunch outside during the traditional horse dancing show. The food was incredible, and the performance made the celebration feel even more special. In the evenings, the hotel hosted different activities, including a Pisco Sour-making class and storytelling sessions that shared the history and legends of the surrounding area. These thoughtful experiences made our stay truly unforgettable.
Grounds
During our stay, we were given a tour of the beautiful grounds, and we ended up making a very adorable new friend along the way. The cutest baby alpaca decided to follow us throughout the entire tour, making the experience even more memorable. By the end, she was ready for her bottle of milk, and I was more than happy to help. She completely stole my heart, and after spending time with her, I’m convinced I need an alpaca of my own someday. 🦙💕
Spa
We also booked a spa treatment, and I’m so glad we did. The experience felt almost like a traditional hammam ritual. It began with a salt exfoliation and a relaxing sauna session before moving into the massage. One of the things I loved most was that our treatment room had its own private jacuzzi, which you could enjoy before or after your service. After the treatment, we were taken to a cozy relaxation room complete with a fireplace, herbal teas, and warm refreshments. It was the perfect way to unwind and made the entire experience feel incredibly luxurious and restorative.
